Auto/Diesel Mechanic

The City of Canton is seeking a certified Auto/Diesel Mechanic. The position requires an experienced and certified mechanic with proven ability to work on a wide range of equipment. The right candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day repairs and routine maintenance of the City`s vehicle and heavy equipment fleet.

The successful applicant will have:

· ASE certification

· CDL Classification

· At least five years’ experience as an auto and diesel mechanic

· Proven ability in vehicle electrical systems and fault diagnostics

· Proven ability in pneumatic and hydraulic systems diagnostics and repair

· Shop supervisory experience

Salary starts at $54,451 and under current contract terms reaches $75,837 after 30 years. The position also provides a daily uniform allowance with cleaning expenses provided by the City.
