Open Call for various Public Works positions

The City of Canton is making an open call for applications to the Public Works Departments. Purpose is to create a hiring pool in anticipation of openings in near future. Positions may be both full-time and part-time. Full-time positions include membership in AFSCME Local 1372, pension, full medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, and generous time off package.

Education

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

· CDL license is preferred but not required at time of hire

· Must live or relocate within 15 miles of the city of Canton.

· Knowledge of the principles and practices of Public Works.

· Ability to maintain a satisfactory working relationship with other employees, city departments, and the public.

Special Nature of Work

· Must be in good physical condition and able to lift up to 100 lbs chest high.
